Time to begin sharing what I'm learning about a backyard top bar hive for bees in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, USA. Following are notes from Day 1, April 15, 2011, when we picked up a 3# package of Italian bees from GloryBee in Eugene, OR. It's been an amazing learning experience with new developments each week.
